Maternity Insurance and the Cost of Pregnancy: Fact and Fiction

If you are pregnant, are considering becoming pregnant, or have someone on your health insurance plan that is pregnant or will become pregnant and especially if you live in the state of Florida then this is "The Maternity Insurance Article" for you. The aim of this article is to explain some of the maternity options available to you and to debunk some common myths concerning maternity insurance, maternity riders, maternity discount plans, and other types of maternity coverage.

First of all, if you are a Florida resident and you are pregnant and do not have maternity coverage then you will not be eligible for maternity coverage under an individual health insurance plan. Those with the foresight to plan ahead and purchase some type of maternity coverage before they become pregnant are rewarded while those who wait until they are actually pregnant are of course not afforded individual maternity coverage. (If you are pregnant and have access to a group plan through you or your spouses' employer then now is the time to seriously inquire about your enrollment options as many group health insurance plans usually cover maternity just as they do any other illness). Naturally, sick people always want health insurance and people with a pregnancy in the family always want some form of maternity insurance.

If you are not pregnant and would like to add on additional maternity coverage to your individual health insurance plan then there are a few things that you should know. Most individual health insurance policies will allow you some measure of maternity coverage in the form of a rider for an additional cost. It is quite common for a maternity rider to have a waiting period of at least 12 months before they pay out any type of maternity benefit. Still some other maternity riders, such as the one that Golden Rule/United Healthcare offers in Florida allow full benefits to be paid up to a set amount after 12 months and 50% of the benefit paid out beginning immediately.

So how much does a pregnancy in our example state of Florida really cost anyway? How much of a maternity benefit should I be certain to have? How much can I anticipate paying out of pocket for the pregnancy and related expenses? These are all important questions and the answer may be, "Not quite as much as you at first think." According to FloridaCompare.gov the statewide average charge for a normal delivery is $1,689 while the statewide average charge for a cesarean section is $14,458. As you can see there is quite a range in the cost depending on if there are any complications present during the pregnancy.

The important thing is to know the options that are available to you and to obtain maternity insurance and health insurance before you need it!

Factors On Designing Large Websites

Designing large websites can be very complex and use of a professional web developer is recommended. Once you have selected the right developer through research and references prepare a schedule for the completion of your website. Be certain to provide specific information regarding your site to the developer.

The first stage of the design process involves graphic concepts or comps which will give you the look and feel of the finished site. There should be a standard to follow by your developer. Check to make sure a standard exists and is followed.

Another stage is that of navigation and should initially be a prototype. After ensuring that it is of good structure and is naturally optimized for keywords then the developer can use actual programming. It is important that it is easy to navigate your website and a sample of the intended navigation features should be presented.

Content is also important in designing large websites. For images such as graphics it is best to use GIF formats while photos should be done in JPEG formats. All image used should be functional and positioned correctly on your site. Text should also be appropriate and revised for accuracy.

Next, consider programming which should be done after having correct navigation and content. Of note, is that all images and text should be on the correct pages. The developer should consider equipment capabilities and web skills of users that visit the web site.

Finally, testing the finished site should be done. A syntax checker or link verifier should be used to ensure the coding has no errors and all links on the webpage works. . A way to receive feedback about any malfunctions regarding the site should be put in place. These steps show the basic process of designing large websites and should be followed to ensure an effective well functioning website.

How To Earn A Fortune And Generate Cash Today!

The key to amassing great wealth and building sustainable profits is to identify the big picture trends, position yourself to capitalize, and then ride the wave all the way to the top. Right now agriculture is making a major move. Learn to use this information to make millions.

My billionaire mentor has been telling me to get into agriculture for some time. The recent fascination with using corn to produce ethanol has increased the plantings of corn. This has been at the expense of other grains such as soybeans and wheat.

The U.S. is looking for a solution to the increasing price of gasoline. Using ethanol as a replacement for gasoline is one possibility. There is no such thing as a free ride though.

As with most decisions there are pros and cons that come along with such a choice. The more acreage devoted to corn means less acreage devoted to other grains. This will and has increased the price of other grains.

An amateur investor would miss this important aspect and dive head first into investing in corn. The professional investor would weigh the impact of this event and project ahead its consequences. The market-savvy investor would realize that farmers would reallocate their land.

In other words, farmers are not going to buy new land to plant more corn. Farmers instead will use the land they already own and plant more corn and reduce the plantings of their other crops. This will reduce the supply of the other crops which would mean higher prices for those crops in the long run because of less supply.

This important fact offers phenomenal profit opportunities for the average person provided they learn how to take specific steps to realize this money. Learn to properly position yourself to ride this profit train and you can earn hefty profits. There is no limit to the amount of money this opportunity will produce.

This type of investing may seem complicated at first. It is like learning to ride a bike. In the beginning it seems harder than it looks but after some practice you can hop on without much thought. The same is true for investing in commodities.

Investing in commodities looks complicated to the beginner but after some time spent involved in the markets, you can take cash out of this profit machine as often as you wish.

The biggest problems successful investors are having right now are when to take profits and how much to take. How would you like to have these problems?

By now you are ready to earn substantial profits from this information and more. There is money waiting to be made by you. As you think about this wealth opportunity, you now get anxious about getting everything you want.

Issues With Trademarking Your Domain Name

Protecting intellectual property rights should be a critical step for any business. With an online business, protecting a domain name is all the more critical.

Nothing is more aggravating than having someone infringe upon your domain name. The question for many sites, then, is how to go about protecting the domain. Filing for a trademark is one of the more popular and effective methods, but it is important to understand there are some issues that can come up.

First and foremost, a domain name may only be trademarked if it is more than just an address pointing people to a site. This is often shown by matching the domain name to the actual name of the business and then incorporating it into the page of the site. Lets look at a classic example.

Google is obviously a distinct trademark. The title Google is a trademarkable domain for two reasons. First, it is distinct. Second, it is both the domain name and the name of the business. Lets assume Google was located at a different domain. Say the domain was se3598xeifp[dot]com. This new domain would not be trademarkable because it did nothing more than point the viewer to the site in question. The phrase Google still would.

Another area that causes some confusion is the suffix of the domain. The suffix is the ending, usually com or net. Can you register a domain and include these suffixes? Many are surprised to learn that it is fairly difficult to do so. Why? Well, none of us have any exclusive rights to the com, net or other suffixes out there. As such, the Trademark Office tends to dislike allowing their inclusion in marks. It can be done, but you should expect to wrestle with them over it.

A final area of some confusion has to do with geographic descriptions. If you use a domain with a city, state or country in it, you are going to have problems. The Trademark Office does not allow people to poach upon municipalities or other defined areas. Sorry, but you cant register NewYorkCity[dot].com.

At the end of the day, trademarking your domain name makes absolute senses if you can meet the relevant requirements. Said protection can be a powerful tool in helping you fight off third parties trying to poach on your name and reputation.

Buying For The First Time? A Guide For The First Time Buyer

You have decided to buy a home - but what next? The maze of legal work, negotiations, dealing with surveyors and solicitors, finding a good mortgage deal and worrying about your deal falling through, is enough to make anyone's hair stand on end. Then you've got to actually find the home of your dreams.

Buying a house is one of the biggest financial decisions you will make in your life. It is a lengthy and complicated business, which while exciting is often fraught with stress and worry. But luckily there is a lot of good advice around helping you to make your home-buying experience as easy and problem-free as possible.

After finding a home you like, which can take anything from a few days to many months, the process from having your offer accepted to completion of the sale takes about 12 weeks.

It is important to have a good understanding of the process as it will help you avoid some of the most common hazards of home-buying. We have prepared an introduction to the home-buying process to help you understand how it all works, how to plan it and what to watch out for. After reading this you should have a better idea of what to expect and how to set out to buy a home feeling prepared and ready to go!

Step 1 - find out how much you are able to borrow We always recommend you understand how much you can borrow before you start looking for a property. This will help you set a realistic budget. Factors that will affect how much you can borrow, will be your employment, your income, the amount you have available for a deposit, and your monthly expenses.

At Stirling Mortgages we offer mortgages from a list of over 8,500 different mortgages. An initial discussion with one of our consultants will provide you with an idea of how much money you can borrow and the likely monthly repayments. Should you wish to take your enquiry further we will complete a client financial review. This review will enable us to provide you with our full advice and recommendation to you on a particular mortgage which best suits your needs. This review will include taking details of your employment, income, deposit available and income/expenditure details.

If you are in the HM Forces may qualify for a payment of 8500 L.S.A.P, to help with the deposit on your new home. This is a long service advance of pay and your pay office will be able to provide you full details of the scheme and if you qualify for the payment.

Once you are happy with our recommendation we can then arrange for an agreement in principle from the lender. This provides you with a certificate stating that subject to the information you have provided being correct and the survey of the property being acceptable the lender will provide you with a mortgage.

Step 2 - You are now ready to start your house hunting. Now that you know your budget you are in a good position to start hunting for the best home for you. Think about what you are looking for in a home and prioritise the most important elements for you:

  • The location. Do you need to be close to school, work, family, friends, or public transport.
  • Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Size of key rooms e.g. kitchen, sitting room
  • Do you want a garden? Or are you happy with no outside space.
When you have made a list of all the most important aspects for you, you are ready to go and see the estate agents. They should be able to give you a good idea of whether you will be able to get what you are looking for with the budget you have available. If you know the most important things for you, then the estate agent should be able to advise you on a good compromise.

When the agent knows what you are looking for they should be able to give you a list of properties and arrange viewings. You'll probably want to see a few properties and then create a shortlist.

We recommend you see a number of agents as they will all have different properties on their books and you'll get a better idea of prices in the area.

When you have seen a number of properties and have your shortlist, it is worth going into more detail, before making your offer.

Check that the house is worth the asking price. Do this by getting details of as many similar properties in the same area that are either on sale (what are their asking prices?) or have been sold recently (what price did they sell for?). How do they compare with yours? This will be particularly easy to check if you are buying a property on an estate where there are lots of similar houses.

When making comparisons between houses, bear in mind that its value can be increased by factors such as extensions, loft conversions, fitted kitchens, being in a good location, or being a brand new house. Similarly, the value can decrease, for example, due to extensions that fill the whole garden or being in a bad location.

Step 3 - Making an offer Before making an offer, there are a few things you should check:

  • Check whether the property is freehold or leasehold.
  • Agree what fixtures and fittings will be included. Draw up a list of all items with the seller as this will avoid later confusion.
  • You can also check things like planning permission, whether there are plans for new developments nearby (roads, new houses etc), and covenants, though these should be looked at by your solicitor later on during conveyancing.
Decide whether you want to offer the asking price or if you think the property is worth less, then reduce your offer accordingly. Some negotiation might be needed to get to a price that both you and the seller are happy with. Always remember that it is in the estate agents interest to get the best price for the seller, not the buyer!

Once your offer has been accepted we will then complete the rest of your mortgage application with you. At this stage you will normally be asked to pay a survey fee to the lender. The fee will depend on which type of survey you require and we will explain the options to you.

We will also recommend a firm of solicitors to act on your behalf with regard to purchasing the property. The solicitors carry out a full conveyance of the property and complete all necessary searches on your behalf.

A mortgage offer is issued to you by the lender with a copy coming to our office. We will then contact you to make sure you are happy with the offer and its conditions. With the offer accepted and the solicitor happy with all legal matters he will then arrange to exchange contracts.

You hand over a deposit which is non-refundable if you pull out of the sale. This is normally 10% per cent of the purchase price, but it is usually negotiable. If you do not have the money for the deposit at hand immediately, you can arrange for a bridging loan from your bank. Once you and your solicitor are satisfied that everything is in order, the contracts can be exchanged. You sign a copy of the contract which is passed to the seller, and the seller signs a copy of the same contract which you receive. Once contracts have been exchanged (normally by the two solicitors) both parties are legally bound to follow through with the transaction. You can no longer change your mind - if you pull out it is likely that you will lose your deposit, and you could be sued for breach of contract.

Your solicitor draws up a transfer document and sends it to the seller's solicitor

Once contracts have been exchanged your solicitor prepares the draft transfer document (if the land is not registered it will require a special kind of transfer or 'conveyance'). This documents transfers the title of the property from the seller to the buyer. Once both parties have agreed on the draft, it is signed by the buyer and the seller. Your solicitor arranges finalisation and signing of your mortgage documents. Your solicitor will also deal with the finalisation and signing of documentation relating to your mortgage, and will arrange for the money to be available on completion of the sale.

Your solicitor carries out final searches and enquiries Land Registry checks are carried out by your solicitor, to make sure that nothing is registered against the seller (or at the Land Charges Registry if the property is not registered). Problems such as undisclosed mortgages or disputes could be uncovered at this stage.

There will be various matters for you to deal with in the run-up to completion. There will be some documents to be signed and payments to be made: you must pay Land Registry fees and stamp duty. Before completion you need to make sure that all the terms of the contract have been fulfilled, such as any repairs.

You also need to be arranging all the practical matters related to moving house.

You move in!

At last! On the day of completion you receive the keys and the seller is obliged to move out.

On the day of completion you also have to pay the balance of the price on the house (the agreed price minus the deposit which you have already paid), usually through your solicitor or conveyancer.

You will receive the transfer document and the title deeds. The seller's deeds are now handed over to you, and arrangements are made for any outstanding mortgages on the property to be paid off.

After completion After completion the solicitor still has various details to tie up. Your solicitor will:

  • where relevant, inform your mortgage lender, life insurance company, and the freeholder that the sale has been completed
  • register the transfer of ownership at the Land Registry. They will then send the deeds to your mortgage lender who will keep them until you either sell the property or pay off your mortgage and pay the stamp duty
  • send you a statement of completion, including a summary of the financial transactions. If you have not already paid their fees, they will ask for these now.

How Wooden Shutters Can Add Value To Your Home!

If youre looking for that finishing touch to just round off your home or even something which you could add to your house in order to increase its value, then wood shutters are the way to go.

Also known as plantation shutters, these kinds of shutters can add a touch of elegance to your home. Their classic styling is what makes them so popular, combined with the fact that they can be stained or painted to your needs.

Wood shutters can also create a kind of theme for the house. They are good at bringing all of the windows together and giving a uniform style. At the same time it is their sheer versatility and the way that they can fit in with modern and old fashioned decors that makes them the window shutters of choice.

Moving away from the looks aspect for a moment, its important to realise how much insulation wooden shutters can give. They are superb at keeping in the warmth. Likewise if you need shutters that are able to vary the amount of light you let in then wooden shutters are great regulators here too.

Wood shutters are warm and authentic but their closest rival is the vinyl shutter. These types of shutters are generally cheaper than wood and that is what is making them almost as popular as our old friend the good ol wooden shutter.

You get what you pay for however, and wooden shutters are the real deal! With vinyl, you can usually only get them in white or a variant thereof and naturally staining is not an option. Also, if you have an irregular shaped window such as an arch then you just cant get vinyl shutters that will do the job. Lets not forget how customisable wooden shutters are.

Lastly, the majority of vinyl shutters can be rather cheaply made so you should always aim for quality and thats where wood shutter come in.

They are extremely easy to clean just wipe a damp cloth across them. But if youd prefer you can just give them a lick of paint every few months to keep them looking good as new.

The majority of wood shutters are made of cedar wood in itself strong and durable, though it may be wise to invest in some wood protection kits if you choose this option.

Overall then, wooden shutters look classy, keep you warm, regulate light more easily than other shutters and while they may be more pricey than their rivals their customisation and look will do wonders for the value of your home.

Matthew enjoys improving his home and you'll find his site on Wood Shutters full of useful, free information.

The Importance of Special Insurance for Your Miniature Collectibles

Miniature collectibles make for a beautiful collection and display. There are limitless possibilities to add to a miniature collection. It can be a very lucrative and rewarding hobby. It is important to consider that a collection with so much potential value should be insured. There are many factors to consider when choosing whether or not to purchase insurance for a collection of miniatures.

1) It is a common misconception that homeowners insurance will cover a dollhouse miniatures collection. It is true that homeowners insurance will cover a collection to a certain extent. The purpose of homeowners insurance is to cover the cost of the structure of the home as well as the every day personal belongings inside. A collection can be worth well beyond ones every day personal belongings. Consider that a homeowners policy will cap the amount for personal belongings to 50% of the insurance policy. Then, an additional cap is placed at 10% to cover something such as a miniature collection. Depending on the amount of homeowners insurance, this likely will not cover an entire collection.

2) Private collectible insurance is a good idea if a collection is valuable both monetarily and emotionally. It is a personal choice whether or not to insure the collection. There are some vast differences between collectible insurance and homeowners insurance. Separate collectible insurance will generally cover the replacement value of the miniatures as well as providing compensation if a piece is lost, stolen, or broken. The majority of homeowners insurance will require a deductible that may be more than an individual piece of the collection is worth.

3) It can be difficult to estimate how much coverage is needed to cover an entire dollhouse miniature collection. It is necessary to consider how much each piece would cost to replace. It is also necessary to consider future purchases that will be added to the collection. Private collectible insurance companies will often provide a certain percentage increase on a regular basis to provide for new purchases and increased value of the collection. It may be difficult to take a complete inventory of the collection, but it will be helpful in determining the replacement value.

4) The cost of collectible insurance is derived from many factors regarding the miniature collection. The first is obviously the value of the collection. Another factor includes whether or not the collectibles are being kept in a secure location such as a safe or in a home with an alarm. There are certain other considerations that may lower premium costs including the heating and cooling system in the home where the collection is located. While these do not necessarily need to be met to acquire collectible insurance, it will lower the premium.

A dollhouse miniatures collection should be insured by special collectible insurance if it has monetary and sentimental value. If the cost of replacing the collection is much more than that of the cost of the premium, then it is worth the price. Imagine losing a precious miniatures collection and not having the insurance to cover the replacement. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Higher Leverage Against Lung Cancer

The fight against cancer has been progressively advancing through the years. Combined efforts from the government, civil society, and health advocacy groups have gained dramatic results. Cancer awareness is on the rise, alternative less cancer-prone lifestyles are arising, while medical researches and technological advancement have tremendously leveled up the fight against one of the world's leading killer. The classic chemotherapy has been modernized and combined with other treatments like radiation, laser, and even organic medicines.

In America alone, the National Health Institute of the US Department of Health and Human Services through its anti-cancer arm National Cancer Institute reported that the death rate due to cancer is still on the decline. In it's annual report to the nation, the NCI claimed that the cancer death rates are progressively declining and progress in cancer treatments are continuously on the rise. In men, study from 1993 to 2002 recorded a decline of 1.5 percent death rate from all cases of cancer. This is higher compared to women's 0.08 percent decline rate.

This report has put the US Department of Health and Human Services at a better position in achieving the goals of its Health People 2010 campaign. The statistics revealed that lung cancer is still consistently leading the nation's cancer death rates. Although a decrease in tobacco-related cancer cases is being achieved, the challenge to drastically reduce its death toll is still as hard as it has always been before. With more and more people puffing cigarettes, lung or bronco cancer is still the leading cause of cancer deaths among men and women.

Dubbed as "the most common cancer", lung cancer is now the subject of numerous studies and experimentations in many countries with advance cancer research programs and facilities like the United Kingdom and Australia. A wider knowledge on lung cancer is now available. A classification has been made between Small Cell Lung Cancer and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Small cell lung cancer is the case where in malignant cancer cells grow in the tissues of the lungs. Three types of Small Cell Lung Cancer are known: small cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, and combined small cell carcinoma. Smoking, second hand smoking, and exposure to asbestos and radon are the known causes of Small Cell Lung Cancer. Current treatments do not successfully cure cases of Small Cell Lung Cancer. However, studies in Germany revealed that surgery (removal of cancer cells or tumor), systematic post-surgery chemotherapy, and sustained local treatments (e.g. *radiation therapy*) have a higher probability of curing this type of lung cancer.

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, on the other hand, is the most common type of lung cancer. It accounts for four of every five deaths from lung cancer. There are several known types of Non-Small Lung Cancer, the three most common are the Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Large Cell Carcinoma, and Adenocarcinoma. The others are pleomorphic, carcinoid tumor, and salivary gland carcinoma. Like the other lung cancer type, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer is mostly caused by smoking (first and second hand), high exposure to air pollution, and exposure to chemicals like asbestos, chromium, and arsenic.

In 2005, the New England Journal of Medicine reported a breakthrough in treatment for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. It reported that current studies reveal that chemotherapy, after the traditional Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer treatment of surgery, can increase the survival rate among patients. In a study, an overwhelming 15 percent increase of survival rate was recorded among patients who had chemotherapy after surgery. Sixty-nine percent of those who had post-surgery chemotherapy's were reported to be still alive five years after the surgery compared to the 54 percent who did not.

Furthermore, a study in Switzerland suggested an even greater breakthrough for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer treatment. The study proposed that in addition to chemotherapy, a combination of the innovative cancer drugs Tarceva and Avastin can lead to higher survival rate for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer patients. Tarceva is approved in the US and across the European Union for patients with unsuccessful cancer treatments through chemotherapy. Also in US and Europe, Avastin is a popular effective medicine for colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and breast cancer. The proposed combination is seen to serve as a stronger combat against Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, especially for the recurring cases.

In the US, the Health and Human Services Department clearly targets the habit of smoking as the main antagonist in the fight against lung cancer. A propaganda campaign is almost everywhere to make Americans, if not totally quit, slowdown on smoking.

Home Security Systems Provide a Safe Environment for Family Members

There were 4 million household burglaries in the United States, nearly 500,000 resulted in bodily injury, and 20,000 resulted in homicides, frightening statistics. Additional statistics reveal that a home without a security system is three times as likely to be burglarized as compared to one which is equipped with a security system. These facts make it obvious that a home security system will reduce your chances of intrusion, and can protect your life and property. It is therefore necessary to conduct an extensive home security review, to determine the appropriate systems necessary to secure the safety of yourself, and home.

Several points should be kept in mind while conducting a home security review. Security needs should be a first consideration. While it may be obvious that you should be the best judge of security requirements, a security expert has the experience to evaluate your home for vulnerabilities that are not obvious to a layperson. After a full examination of your home, a security specialist will be able to make note of all soft spots, and suggest the kind of equipment necessary to strengthen these soft spots.

The next consideration is security monitoring. Security monitoring can be a sophisticated central monitoring service, or a simple home security system, cost and needs are the determining factors. The central monitoring services are ideal because they ensure that appropriate measures are taken whenever an intrusion is detected. A monitoring team that works from a central station verifies every suspicious activity the moment it receives an alert. While an ideal deterrent, this type of monitoring is relatively expensive, and subject to the experience and professionalism of the company. You must find out if the central monitoring station is certified by Underwriters Laboratory; that it has a power back up system that can run for 10 to 15 hours; that it is run by trained staff; that it alerts local authorities within seconds of receiving a security alert.

Less costly is a simple home security system consisting of a control panel, a couple of magnetic switches, a motion sensor or two, and an alarm device. This can be hard wired or wireless. The more advanced systems feature a video camera that can be monitored by family members. The biggest advantage of this system is that it scares away potential intruders. This may happen when an intruder sees a yard sign, a decal sign or any of the installed sensors or video cameras. There is a one-time installation charge, with no recurring expenses.

While there are no guarantees, any home security system could scare away potential intruders. Any type of prevention will go along way to reduce the likelihood of a break in, or home assault by a stranger. Remember, the main objective of any home security system is to provide a safe environment for family members, and to limit the loss of property.

Many people have already discovered the power of using blogs to generate income online. They may use blogs to promote products as an affiliate, sell their own product, or monetize them with adsense.

If you want to create a decent income from using niche blogs you are going to need more than one or two sites. You will need to create your own little empire of niche blog sites. How would you go about achieving this?

It's not as hard as you may think. There are many resources out there which are free and some you will have to pay for to start your own empire. However, creating an empire of niche blogs mainly consits of three elements.

1. First off you need a niche site.

That is you need to find a niche and then build a site around it. There are

almost an unlimited number of niches out there waiting to be expoilted.

2. Content. You need content for your site. Original content is always the best.

If you don't have original content there are other ways of getting some, outsourcing

being one of them.

3. Promotion.

You need people to visit your site. So you must start promoting your site which ever

way you can. Through the search engines and pay per click advertising, other blogs,

articles and any other means you can think of.

Once all the above is done and you have your first niche site up, just start over with another niche topic and repeat. Soon you will have your own empire of niche mini sites generating income for you month after month.

Computer Generated Cross Stitch Charts and Patterns on eBay and Copyrights

Ebay is a place that you can actually find anything! Lately you can find wonderful designs of computer generated cross stitch charts/patterns and they are very cheap. However, quite a lot of these are actually illegal and should not be sold on ebay or anywhere else.

New sellers with low feedback appear on ebay every week. Most of them sell Disney cross stitch charts. We all love Winnie the Pooh, Mickey and other Disney characters but buyers should be alert and do not buy any of it if they think it is illegal. I know it is very tempting to buy and save some money but you encourage these sellers to continue doing what they are doing, making money from other people's work.

Some people think that selling computer generated charts is easy money and will steal any beautiful copyrighted picture to achieve their goal! They don't ask the artist's permission to use their work, they don't mention the artist's name in the listing and they practically don't care.

Legitimate sellers will state in their listings the name of the artist of which the picture is coming from. Of course there are many images in the public domain and anyone may use them for commercial or personal use. These images are usually fine art pictures from famous painters that copyright has expired. If anyone would like to check expired copyrights, Wikepidia, a free content encyclopedia on the internet, is good place to start.

Images or pictures of the following will NEVER be found on public domain:

* Disney characters

* Pixar characters

* Harry Potter

* Fantasy fairies - especially from artists Amy brown, Anna Ignatieva (famous from her water fairy), Nene Thomas.

This is just a sort list of some of the artists whose work is being used excessively on ebay.

At the moment, it is also illegal if you take an artist's picture and change it by adding a different background or change the color of the picture. I have seen this happening by ebayers who seem to have excellent skills on photoshop! However, it doesn't change the fact that the picture is stolen and only belongs to the original artist. Noone can change or amend a copyrighted picture without the artist's permission.

It is a matter of time before these sellers will be caught and reported to ebay. Ebay has a rule about copyright infringement and will suspend their accounts.

Something else you should be aware of: legally, you can not make a copy of a cross stitch chart and distribute to friends without the permission of the copyright owner. However you can make a copy only for your own use.

The author is an ebay PowerSeller and also owner of Yiotas-XStitch website http://www.yiotas-xstitch.com that sells cross stitch charts/patterns of fine art and victorian designs.

Though simple and engineered to be lightweight, small trailers are also loaded with cooking facilities as well as a refrigerator, heating, air conditioning, a self-contained toilet, a shower, water tanks, and a separate electrical system. These trailers also feature slide-out rooms so you can enjoy additional space.

Whether for weekend camping trips or a cross-country sojourn, this kind of vehicle will surely go places easily as compared to its larger counterparts, as it can easily travel within tight campsites or constricted pathways.

If you are interested in owning one of these vehicles, you can visit and consult various manufacturers. Tips on Getting A Scholarship

Not all of us is aware of the process you have to follow in order to get a scholarship and in their confusion many parents or significant others simply fail to save on thousands of dollars spent on the education of their children. Financial aid like scholarships and grants are basically money gifted to students or pupils to help them get through college or university and can be in various forms. They are different from student loans in the sense that they don't have to be paid back.

This kind of education financing can be paid either directly to the student or paid to the university or college to make up for the fees. Several agencies award scholarships including government, clubs, charities, businesses, schools and even cooperative organization. Parents and students should be aware it is not only the top performing students who are eligible for a scholarship. As a matter of fact, almost every student can get scholarships depending on his or her abilities.

Another misconception about this way to finance your education is it is available only to high school students who are seeking admission in college. Fact is such financial grants are available to all levels of college or university studies, right from freshman years to graduates and even PhD students.

Scholarships can be applied for on a variety of reasons right from your abilities to your following a certain religion. The range of this study financing option available include athletic scholarships, scholarships for students in a particular field of study or even scholarships for students living or studying in a particular city or state. The sources for scholarships are also literally unlimited - even a simple internet search would reveal numerous sources.

To get the scholarship you want you need to do some grunt work first. The first step is to take the initiative and apply for it. Look for scholarship grants where their criteria match your position and after you find them, contact the provider and ask for an application form. Many scholarship providers allow you to download their application forms from their website while others require you to send a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Be careful to follow all the deadlines set by the scholarship providers - for filling in and submitting the forms, providing all your necessary documentation and appearing for an interview if they call you for one. Be organized in your scholarship applications - keep all necessary documents including reference and recommendation letters as well as course transcripts ready at hand so that you don't need to run around for them at the last minute.

Always make copies of all your completed applications before submitting them and file them properly with all necessary details for easy reference. If your mail copy is lost by accident, you can always send in a follow up copy from the one you made. Last but not least, stay positive about yourself and your chances of getting a scholarship. The hard work you put in and the time you spent towards searching for scholarships will definitely bring you decent results.

Writers of The Digital Age

For some who might never have heard of Zane Greys Riders of the Purple Sage, it was made into a 1996 movie for television with Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. As a child I was a punster who loved Westerns. As you can see, my character hasn't changed. The movie retains the storys enigmatic quality without sacrificing the grittiness you expect of the Western novel.

Zane Grey died in 1939, three years after Larry McMurtry was born. Having penned over 80 novels, Greys are considered some of the best Westerns ever written. My neurotic aunt who read only Westerns had bookcases full of her favorites, Louis LAmour and Larry McMurtry. A practicing psychiatrist until her early nineties, she said Westerns helped her relax and forget her self-absorbed neurotic patients.

So who cares? Westerns are out. Forensics are in. Er, close your eyes and try not to laugh. Envision Law and Orders Dennis Farina in chaps and a badge, a courtroom with Sam Waterston in Luccese Western boots, facing down Spencer Tracy in a dusty pair of Laredo Basics. Move CSI Miami to Dodge, and put David Carusos red hair under a big white Stetson. The old clich, theres nothing new under the sun, is nonetheless valid.

While the purple sage has ridden into the sunset, the digital age is this generations zeitgeist in new clothes. Forgive me if sometimes I cant resist using one word instead of the three or four it takes to say the same thing. The experts tell writers we must write to please our readers or we wont have any readers. To be honest, I always want to write to please me. I tell myself, If readers dont know what the word means, let them look it up the way I do. Not.

There's is a happy medium between dumbing down to the lowest common denominator and, when the ego gets in the way, deliberately trying to impress the elitists. In my experience, not all PhDs can spell, and many graduates of urban public schools become great writers. F. Scott Fitzgerald flunked out of Princeton. Ernest Hemingway had other things to do. Prairie Home Companions Garrison Keillor of radio and print is especially insightful and earthy when talking about writers.

Writers are vacuum cleaners who suck up other peoples lives and weave them into stories like a sparrow builds a nest from scraps.

Wish I had said that. An insatiable storyteller of fiction and non-fiction, I think the writers happy medium is simplicityin ones own style, in ones own languageplain American English. Theres so much more to say, but why be prolix. Yikes! Good scrap hunting, and happy nest building.
